The new Timeline layout for Facebook Pages goes live today—and it looks like a real improvement to me, more visually appealing, more information at the top, and improved admin features. The layout for the individual apps, like my Music and Downloads Store (powered by the incredible Bandcamp) is much cleaner… I like it.

I’m really loving the SoundCloud HTML 5 music player… the 128 kbps stream sounds very good, it runs natively in the browser and on all mobile devices, the colors and size are customizable, and it’s got excellent share options, including working well in Facebook. The download/buy links can be directed to any source, in my case download.mikeshupp.com, where I can offer digital downloads (and choice of file format, including full CD fidelity 16-bit / 44.1 kHz) as well as physical CD ordering… and of course, there’s the feature of adding timed comments to the tracks.

Fun time in the studio last week with my friend Jeffrey T. Smith, listening to digital transfers of recordings we made back in the day at Bias Studios, and at Peter Bonta’s Wally Cleaver’s Recording, in Jeff’s band the Sleepers. We released one 7″, “American Boyfriend” b/w “Nervous Individual”… I’d love to see some of this other stuff see the light of day.
