Metro Cafe Show With Mary Cutrufello
Shupp performing at the Metro Cafe in DC Wed., Aug. 18th, supporting Mercury recording artist Mary Cutrufellow.
Mike Shupp was invited to perform at the International Pop Overthrow festival in Los Angeles, for a half hour set at The Gig, Sat. July 24th, in West L.A.; but alas, with only 3 days notice having been given, the logistics proved sufficiently daunting that the decision was made to take a pass on this one, with an agreement to appear at next year’s show (with a little more notice!) Watch this space for next year’s news…

Opening For The Push Stars
We have an excellent DC area show coming up, an opening slot for Capitol recording artists the Push Stars, Fri. July 9th, at IOTA in Arlington, VA. The Push Stars are touring behind their major label debut, “After the Party”, and the success of the “Something About Mary” soundtrack, which included their song “Everything Shines.”
The Washington Post’s Eric Brace mentions the inclusion of Mike Shupp on the “Bam Balam Explosion Vol. V” USA Power Pop Compilation CD in the Weekend section’s “Nightwatch” column this week. Brace called the song “A Little Fun”, which the Spanish label chose for the CD, “the most rocking tune of this strong selection of melodic pop, a collection absolutely worth searching out.”
