My iTunes Music Library

iTunes Music Library
iTunes Music Library

I’m finally closing in on 5,000 songs in my iTunes Music Library… certainly not as many as some, but a cool milestone nonetheless. And I’m loving using iTunes Match and iCloud

“How iTunes Match works: iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to iCloud for you to listen to anytime, on any device. Since there are more than 20 million songs in the iTunes Store, chances are your music is already in iCloud. And for the few songs that aren’t, iTunes uploads what it can’t match (which is much faster than uploading your entire music library). Even better, all the music iTunes matches plays back from iCloud at 256-Kbps AAC DRM-free quality — even if your original copy was of lower quality.”

Facebook Rewrites Its Code for a Small-Screen World – NYTimes.com

The New York Times
New York Times – Technology

Facebook rewrites the code for its mobile apps for iOS… I just downloaded the iPhone version, and it’s a very noticeable improvement, much smoother…

“Facebook’s executives say the company is diving deep into mobile, starting with new versions of its apps for the iPhone and iPad, which it released Thursday. Users had complained that the apps were sluggish; more than half of those who have rated Facebook’s iPhone app in the Apple App Store gave it one star out of five. The new apps are faster because they were rewritten in the native programming language of Apple’s devices, replacing most of the Web-based technology used in previous versions.”

Recent Favorite WordPress Plugins

WordPress.org

Here are a few WordPress plugins I have been really happy with lately:

Admin Bar Minimiser
Minimizes (and brings back) the WordPress admin bar at the click of a button, very nice…

Awesome Flickr Gallery
Creates a photo gallery of your Flickr photos with many customization options, uses the Flickr API… powers the sidebar widget here.

Dynamic To Top
Very nice with lots of options, JQuery-powered… at lower right on these pages.

Plugin Organizer
Selectively disable plugins on any post! (And many other powerful features.)

iDrumTune App

iDrumTune iOS app

Studio owners, musicians—this looks really interesting, an iPhone app for drum tuning:

iDrumTune is a simple and effective iPhone App which analyses the sound of a drum and provides a measurement of the drumhead vibration frequency, much in the same way to an acoustic guitar tuner which measures the vibration frequency of a guitar string. In Pitch Tuning mode, simply hold the iPhone over the centre of a drum, about 4-6 inches away, and strike the drum in the centre.”

I’m looking forward to downloading and trying this today… press release and Sound on Sound review links here:
