Studio owners, musicians—this looks really interesting, an iPhone app for drum tuning:
“iDrumTune is a simple and effective iPhone App which analyses the sound of a drum and provides a measurement of the drumhead vibration frequency, much in the same way to an acoustic guitar tuner which measures the vibration frequency of a guitar string. In Pitch Tuning mode, simply hold the iPhone over the centre of a drum, about 4-6 inches away, and strike the drum in the centre.”

Nice looking update to the WordPress GigPress plugin… Artist URL field, External Link field (Facebook Events, etc.) and more… getting ready to install now.
I have to say, Matthew Sweet in concert has never disappointed—seen him probably 10 times, he’s always in great voice and seems to truly enjoy what he does, and that really comes across to the crowd. Another very fun show last night at the 9:30 Club in D.C., part of the “Girlfriend” 20th Anniversary Tour, which also stopped at Alexandria, VA’s Birchmere just last October. The band (Sweet, Paul Chastain, Ric Menck, Dennis Taylor) performed “Girlfriend” in its entirety, plus “Time Capsule,” “Sick of Myself,” the new “She Walks the Night,” and “We’re the Same.”
