Successfully installed the new iLok License Manager application on the studio machine and the laptop, registered my new iLok 2, and successfully transferred all my licenses from my iLok 1. Pro Tools® 10.3.5 is up and running very smoothly on both machines, and I’m getting ready for one final update to 10.3.6, before making the leap to 64-bit OS and Pro Tools® 11.

In advance of the upcoming release of Pro Tools® 11, the Avid Knowledge Base has provided an initial list of supported audio interfaces and peripherals. Happy to see the 003 console and Mbox® 2 are supported:

I just noticed that you can rent some of the Pro Tools® plug-ins at the Avid Store, instead of purchasing them. Impact and SoundReplacer caught my eye (neither of which I own), each available to rent for either 7 days ($19) or 31 days ($49)… that’s not too bad.
The good folks at Pro Tools Expert blog shared this… from where, I’ve no idea, but I couldn’t resist re-posting:

Pro Tools® 9.0.5 on my laptop, Mbox 2®, recording at 24-bit / 48 kHz, then upload to iCloud, and with iTunes Match it’s delivered to all my devices. The best part is, iTunes 10.5 and iOS 5 devices actually support digital music playback at 24-bit / 48 kHz… so I get to listen back to better-than-CD quality for my efforts:

The new studio is up and running, and I am currently at work on the next record — stay tuned for updates, and for new shows to be announced soon…
