Apple is releasing the incredible-looking iOS 7 update today, with over 200 new features, including iTunes Radio, a free, streaming radio service. Historically, 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT has been their preferred timing for OS update releases, hopefully that will hold true for today. Very interested to see how iTunes Radio works, and how it compares with Spotify, Pandora, etc.CNET’s update preparation guide has some good tips for ensuring a smooth update… looking forward to this!
Apple now offers optional two-step verification for Apple ID, the key to an Apple account, which controls iOS devices, iCloud, iTunes and Apple Support. Studio owners, musicians—this looks really interesting, an iPhone app for drum tuning:
“iDrumTune is a simple and effective iPhone App which analyses the sound of a drum and provides a measurement of the drumhead vibration frequency, much in the same way to an acoustic guitar tuner which measures the vibration frequency of a guitar string. In Pitch Tuning mode, simply hold the iPhone over the centre of a drum, about 4-6 inches away, and strike the drum in the centre.”
I’m looking forward to downloading and trying this today… press release and Sound on Sound review links here:
